This is an incredible Meridian 580 with FACTORY INSTALLED NAIAD STABILIZERS that make a huge difference in stability of ride, crew comfort, and safety.
All will be impressed by her condition. A seasoned yachter will also be impressed by her equipment list. She is, dare we say it, nearly perfect in every way:
Freshly polished; the gel coat glistens. Properly maintained and serviced; the bilges and engine room are clean and odour-free. Updated top-of-the-line electronics include an autopilot that tracks well; even in heavy following seas.
At almost 60', the Meridian 580 pilothouse was the flagship of the marque. Known as a value priced yacht, the Meridian 580 earned respect for:
- generous beam - 17’ 2” creates remarkable volume of living space, giving rise to a roomy and comfortable family yacht, and an outstanding yacht for entertaining;
- smooth, agile performance with a 20 knot cruise, and quiet, graceful, economic ride at 10 knots, for long lazy days of summer;
- robust Cummins diesel power with common rail technology for clean, quiet, efficiency;
- stairs lift in the cockpit for ease of stepping down into a palatial engine room, with room for access, added equipment, spares, and tools;
- excellent ergonomics - ease of boarding and moving around exterior decks, with exceptional flow of spaces from the cockpit, through the salon into the pilothouse, and either down to the accommodations, or up steps the enormous flybridge - fine layouts were a hallmark of Meridian, and the flagship 580 is no exception;
- comfortable lounging spaces: a salon with comfortable seating, outstanding surround views of the seascape, a home-sized galley with real appliances, and a dinette across from the galley;
- the pilothouse features settee and table, amazing visibility, a large dash for installed navigation equipment, access door to starboard side deck and an easy traffic flow through the different areas of the vessel;
- An easily accessed flybridge with ample room for piloting, lounging in the sun at a fine anchorage, dining al fresco, storing a tender, kayaks, paddle boards, and inflatable toys; OR, clearing the decks, setting out lounge furniture, and opening a patio umbrella for a spectacular barbecue overlooking the seascape.
Equanimity is a particularly special example of any Meridian 580; it bears repeating that she is in incredible condition. She has been thoughtfully and professionally maintained and updated by Philbrook's Boat Yard, as directed by a thoroughly involved and highly experienced owner.
