Peregrine Boats

I have built over 1,000 vessels in my career – from a 90 foot landing craft to an 80 foot catamaran to hundreds of commercial fishing boats. So when Tom approached me and described the type of vessel he wanted to build, I was very excited to build such a remarkable vessel. He wanted a vessel built specifically to carry six passengers and two or three crew in a great deal of comfort while still building the hull to Alaskan commercial fishing boat standards. In fact, he wanted the boat to be built tougher than a commercial fishing boat. We designed the hull with a sharp entry to cut the waves for a smoother ride but made the beam very wide which makes for an exceptionally stable platform. The boat is double-hulled from the bow to the engine room. There are nine watertight compartments (which is unheard of in a 62 foot vessel), including the engine room and master stateroom. The bottom of the vessel is 5/16 5086 aluminum – thicker than the standard 1/4 inch commercial hull. Everything involving the safety and integrity of this boat is of commercial quality including the main engines, generators, fuel filters, watertight doors, hatches, windows, winches, bow thruster and electronics. Standing in the salon of the boat though, all you see is a luxurious yacht. To achieve this stunning finish, we hired master craftsmen Gary Roberts, Thad Mantyla and Tom Gibbs, along with marine craftsman Rick Phillips, to complete the interior. This vessel is one that we are extremely proud of and is built to handle much rougher seas than its passengers will ever want to venture into. I’m confident you will be impressed. To build this vessel currently — as of November 2024 — would certainly cost in excess of $4,000,000.00
