As Boating Magazine wrote at her introduction in 2003, the new Roamer 40 “harks back to those halcyon days of mahogany planking, brass fixtures, and Gray Marine engines.” True enough: with her retro look, including the flared bow and foredeck rumble seat—the Roamer is nothing if not distinctive. Stepping into the oversize cockpit with its beautiful teak sole and posh lounge seating, everything about the Roamer feels elegant and romantic. The exquisite detailing of the galley, heads, and staterooms complements the main cabin's efficient use of space. The salon is very roomy with cherry-wood joinery and designer fixtures throughout. Stainless-steel-framed windows run the entire length of the cabin. The side decks are wide, and the hardtop was standard".

UNLIKE MOST OF THE 40 ROAMERS, SHE DOES NOT HAVE THE DARK COLOR HULLSIDES THAT ARE PRONE TO FADING AND UNSIGHTLY DOCK RASH, WHICH IS HARD TO MATCH. WITH HER TWIN VOLVO IPS 370HP DIESEL ENGINES WITH POD DRIVES AND BOW THRUSTER, DOCKING IS A BREEZE.
