Built to the renowned Doggersbank design by Kuipers Woudsend and designed and overseen by Vripack, Belle Isle Sea is a 90-foot expedition-style yacht that exemplifies the rugged capability of a true ocean passage maker combined with the refined finish of Dutch craftsmanship. Constructed to Lloyd’s standards at the time of her build, she reflects exceptional quality and engineering throughout. Purchased in 2020, she underwent an extensive, multi-year refit beginning that October, during which every major system—mechanical, electrical, structural, and interior—was meticulously upgraded or replaced to bring her to near-new condition.

The result is a fully modernized, turn-key yacht ready for world cruising with the reliability, comfort, and efficiency expected of a Northern European build. The following is a detailed summary of the refit work completed.

Refit Summary — 2020 to 2024 Mechanical & Systems

• Complete rewiring throughout the yacht, including all junction boxes, switchboards, panels, transformers, and converters.

• All hydraulic equipment replaced with new lines and control systems, including stern thruster, bow thruster, stabilizers, hydraulic generator, stern platform, deck crane hydraulics, and new control lines for the steering system.

• Starboard main engine completely rebuilt.

• Port main engine fuel system, crankcase, and transmission replaced.

• Both main engines received new crankcase breathers, alternators, wiring harnesses, throttle, and gear select cables.

• Both Northern Lights generators completely rebuilt with new smart control systems.

• Battery power inverter replaced.

• All new pumps installed in the engine room and forepeak, with new automatic bilge pumps throughout every compartment.

• New sewage treatment plant and complete piping system.

• Entirely new HVAC system designed and installed.

• Fuel centrifuge purifier rebuilt.

• New fire detection and suppression system throughout the yacht.

• New Maretron yacht management and monitoring system installed.

• All tanks re-coated.

• All black water and grey water systems replaced.

• Added new hot water storage tank with three segregated heat exchangers from main engines and generators.

• Both main engine shafts replaced (port and starboard).

• Freshwater maker completely rebuilt.

• New tank sounding system installed.

• Added new storage battery quiet mode system.

Navigation & Electronics

• Bridge redesigned, including the replacement of all electronics and installation of full redundancy systems.

• Added new IT internal communication network and security camera system.

Structural & Exterior

• Both anchors and chain replaced.

• Hull repainted in Awlgrip Flag Blue, and deckhouse refinished in Awlgrip Matterhorn White.

• Bottom completely sandblasted and painted with Micron Extra Black antifouling.

• All tanks re-coated and approximately 70% of all piping replaced.

Interior & Crew Areas

• Completely new crew quarters designed and added.

• All woodwork throughout the yacht refinished or replaced.

• All interior decks renewed with new cabin soles and carpeting throughout.

• All interior and exterior lighting upgraded to LED.
