The Helmsman 38 Sedan is Helmsman Trawlers' most "traditional" trawler design and is available with several interior layouts. With a europa-style trawler configuration, featuring full walk-around covered side decks, this is the modern execution of a familiar sedan trawler profile.
The Helmsman 38 Sedan is modified from its predecessor 37 Sedan by moving the transom aft by more than 2' and using the additional on-deck length to increase the salon interior volume. The upper deck has likewise increased in length by 2'+, allowing for more dinghy-carrying configurations. The cockpit remains the same large size that was a feature on the 37 Sedan.
A variety of interior layouts are available:
Single stateroom with separate head and shower compartments
Two staterooms with integrated head / shower
Salon with U-shaped dinette and raised port side companion seating area and starboard linear galley
Salon with L-shaped dinette and forward port L-shaped galley
In all cases the interior is modern yet richly nautical with its use of teak and holly floors and teak joinery. Opening windows are a hallmark of Helmsman Trawlers, for good ventilation. The upper deck is designed for entertaining with seating for six or more, and the flybridge control station is standard.
Construction quality is immediately evidenced by thick decks sections, deep gel coat, sturdy rails, quality hardware, abundant teak (interior only!) and extraordinary fit and finish.
Standard propulsion is a Cummins QSB 6.7 liter 380 hp electronically controlled common rail engine. Other hp ratings (up to 550 hp) are available.
Minimal exterior maintenance and reliable, economical propulsion systems allow owners to spend more time cruising. A wide range of options and custom configurations are available for order. We’d like to talk with you about your ideas!
Base Price includes shipping, delivery, commissioning and training - Seattle or Charleston. Taxes and duties not included. Shipping price adjustments may be made for other destinations / countries.
A wide range of options and customizations are available. These include engine brand and horsepower selections, generators, galley appliances, exterior gel coat colors, upholstery and granite choices, custom cabinetry, bridge layouts, and more.
