The Helmsman 38 Pilothouse is an innovative fast trawler design featuring a large “low rise” pilothouse that is open to the salon and prevents the separation common in other pilothouse models. The full-beam main salon is expansive, comfortable, and richly nautical. And a second day head is unusual to find in a boat this size, but an extremely practical feature with guests aboard. The dinette and day head can be enclosed to create a private suite for occasional guests, and a layout featuring a second dedicated stateroom is also available. A commanding flybridge, high bow, covered aft deck, deep pilothouse side-deck footwells and wide flybridge access stairs port and starboard increase this boat's practicality and safety in all weather conditions.
Helmsman Trawlers® has revised the Helmsman 38 Pilothouse model, with the new designation of 38E Pilothouse. Modifications to the deck design add an extended cockpit cover, improve rain drip control around the pilothouse roof, and modify the forward window shape and the vessel’s overall appearance. In addition, the 38E now includes even better engine noise control with additional sound attenuation materials included in the multi-layered construction of all interior floors.
Construction quality is immediately evidenced by thick decks sections, deep gel coat, sturdy rails, quality hardware, abundant teak (interior only!) and extraordinary fit and finish.
The Helmsman Trawlers 38 Pilothouse was designed for those who want to cruise comfortably and economically, enjoy the spacious feeling of a much larger boat while still fitting into a 40’ slip, and surround themselves with the beauty of well-crafted hardwood joinery and other fine materials.
Standard propulsion is a Cummins QSB 6.7 litre 380 hp electronically-controlled common rail engine. Other hp ratings (up to 550 hp) are available, as are other brands of engines.
Minimal exterior maintenance and reliable, economical propulsion systems allow owners to spend more time cruising. A wide range of options and custom configurations are available for order. We’d like to talk with you about your ideas!
Base Price includes shipping, delivery, commissioning and training - Seattle or Charleston. Taxes and duties not included. Shipping price adjustments may be made for other destinations / countries.
A wide range of options and customizations include: engine brand and horsepower selections, generators, galley appliances, exterior gel coat colors, upholstery and granite choices, custom cabinetry, bridge layouts, and more.
